The King and I. 48x48. Oil. Available.
The King and I is an abstraction of King David and Bathsheba. David did evil in the sight of the LORD by taking a married woman and eventually setting up the husband, Uriah the Hittite, to be killed in the frontlines of war. What David had done displeased the LORD. Therefore, judgement fell upon him and his family. According to 2 Samuel 12:10-12, therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife. Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor. And he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel and before the sun.

Brother's Keeper. 48x48. Oil. Available.
Brother's keeper is an abstraction of the story of Cain and Abel. The scriptures declare that Cain was of the evil one. By faith Abel offered a better sacrifice to God than Cain. One day Cain rose up against his brother and killed him. In Genesis chapter 4, God said unto Cain, where is your brother Abel? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper? And why did he kill his brother, because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.
